Is it the right dog for you?
Who a Doodle or Poodle actually suits
Poodles and Poodle crosses are people-oriented, quick to learn and comfortable indoors, which is why they do well in Tricity apartments and independent houses alike. They are also high-maintenance in one specific way: the coat.
Usually a good fit
- Families who want a dog indoors, with them, most of the day
- Homes that can commit to daily walks and real play
- Owners willing to budget for grooming every 6–8 weeks
- First-time owners who want a trainable, biddable dog

An honest note on allergies. Poodle coats shed far less hair than most breeds, which is why they are often called hypoallergenic. No dog truly is. Dander and saliva still carry allergens, and crossbred coats vary a lot between puppies — even within one litter. If someone at home has a diagnosed allergy, spend time around the specific puppy first and speak to your doctor.

Four things worth knowing before you choose a Doodle
None of this is meant to talk you out of a puppy. It is what we would want a friend to know before they spent the money.

The coat needs real work
A Doodle coat mats. Expect brushing several times a week at home and a professional groom roughly every six to eight weeks. Skipping it does not save money — it leads to a matted coat that has to be shaved off.

Adult size is a range, not a promise
In first-generation crosses, adult size and coat type vary between littermates. Anyone who guarantees an exact adult weight for a crossbred puppy is guessing. Ask about the parents’ sizes and treat the answer as a range.

Chandigarh summers need planning
May and June here are hard on a thick-coated dog. Walks move to early morning and late evening, water and shade matter, and a sensible summer clip helps. Cool, ventilated indoor space is not optional.

The purchase price is the smaller number
Food, vaccination, deworming, sterilisation, grooming, boarding when you travel and the occasional vet emergency add up every year, for the dog’s whole life. Budget for the decade, not the day.

Being local matters more than it sounds. You can meet the puppy before you buy instead of judging it from a video sent by someone three states away. Travel is short, so the puppy arrives home calm rather than exhausted. And if something comes up in month three, we are a phone call away, in the same city.

Six questions to ask anyone selling you a puppy
Use these with us. Use them with everyone else too. A seller who cannot answer them calmly and specifically is telling you something.
“Can I see the puppy live, today?”
A live video call, on request, with the actual puppy. Not a forwarded clip.
“What vaccinations has this puppy had, and when?”
Specific dates and vaccine names, with a record you can photograph.
“How old is the puppy, exactly?”
A date of birth. Puppies should not leave their mother too early.
“What are the parents like?”
Type, size, coat and temperament — and anything known about their health.
“What exactly is the puppy eating?”
Brand, quantity and feeding times, so you can keep the diet unchanged at first.
“What is the total price, and what does it include?”
One clear number, and a clear list of what is and is not covered.

Which puppies do you have — Doodles, Poodles, or both?
Both, depending on what is available at the time. That includes Poodles and Poodle crosses such as Goldendoodles and Labradoodles. Because availability changes, message or call us and we will tell you exactly what is here now and what is expected.
How much does a puppy cost?
Price depends on the individual puppy, so we quote per puppy rather than publishing a range that would be misleading. When you enquire, you get one clear total for the specific puppy you are considering, along with what it includes. There are no surprise additions after that. Can I visit and meet the puppy before buying?
Yes, and we encourage it. If you cannot come in person straight away, we will do a live video call with the puppy first. We would rather you saw the puppy properly than bought on the strength of a photograph. How to arrange a visit.
Are Doodles hypoallergenic?
No dog is truly hypoallergenic. Poodle-type coats shed much less hair than most breeds, which helps a great deal with loose hair around the house, but allergens are also carried in dander and saliva. Crossbred coats vary between puppies too. If there is a diagnosed allergy at home, spend time with the specific puppy first and take medical advice.
How much grooming does a Doodle actually need?
More than most people expect. Plan on brushing at home several times a week and a professional groom roughly every six to eight weeks. If that is not realistic for your household, a Doodle is probably the wrong choice, and we will say so.
Do you deliver to Mohali, Panchkula or Zirakpur?
We are based in Chandigarh and work with families across the Tricity. Collecting the puppy in person is what we recommend, because it lets you see the puppy and ask questions face to face. Where that is genuinely not possible, ask us what handover options exist for your location.
What records come with the puppy?
Whatever records exist for that puppy — typically its vaccination record, deworming schedule and any veterinary check notes — are shown to you before you decide and handed over with the puppy. If you need to know whether something specific applies, ask us directly and we will give you a straight answer.

When a family messages me, they are usually somewhere between excited and unsure. Both are reasonable. A puppy is a ten-to-fifteen year commitment, and the first conversation matters more than the sale does.
So I keep it simple. You talk to me directly, not to a call centre. I ask about your home, your routine and who is around during the day, because that decides far more than any photograph will. You see the puppy on a video call or in person, along with whatever records exist for it, before money is discussed.
Sometimes that conversation ends with me suggesting you wait, or that a Doodle is not the right dog for your household. I would rather lose a sale than place a puppy in a home it does not suit.
