A booking holds one particular puppy for you, and it is the point at which everything stops being a conversation and starts being an agreement. So it is worth understanding exactly what you are agreeing to before you send anyone any money.
The basics
What a booking is, and what it is not
A booking attaches your name to one identified puppy — a specific animal with a date of birth, a sex, a colour and a record of its own. From that point we stop offering it to anyone else, and you have time to make the practical arrangements without worrying that it will go to someone quicker.
What it is not is a place in a queue. If we cannot tell you which puppy you are booking, there is nothing to book. That distinction matters more than it sounds: a great deal of money changes hands in this market for puppies that are not yet born, not yet weaned, or not yet actually in the seller’s possession.
If you are not ready to name a puppy yet, do not book. Ask us what is here at the moment, or work through which type and size suits your home first. Neither costs anything and both are better uses of your time than an early deposit.

See the puppy live
Not a photograph, and not a video that could have been filmed at any time. A live video call where you can ask for the camera to be moved, or a visit in person.
Photographs circulate freely in this market and often belong to someone else entirely. A live call is the cheapest fraud check there is.

See the records
Date of birth, vaccinations given so far, deworming dates, and any veterinary notes — before you pay, not at handover.

Have the household conversation
Everyone who lives in the house should have agreed, including on who does the walking, the grooming trips and the vet visits.
Most puppies that are returned are returned for this reason and not for anything to do with the dog. What it costs to keep.
Before any money moves
What your booking confirmation should say
We put ours in writing before anything is paid. Whoever you buy from, these are the points that should be written down rather than agreed verbally.
- Which puppy — identified specifically enough that it cannot be swapped later. Date of birth, sex, colour and any reference number.
- The total — one figure, and a plain list of what it covers. What moves the price.
- What the booking amount does — whether it forms part of the total or sits on top of it.
- How long it holds — and what happens at the end of that period.
- What happens if your plans change — and what happens if ours do.
- When and where you collect — along with what you should bring.
A test worth applying. Ask for those six points in a single written message before you pay. A seller who will not put them in writing has told you something useful, and it has cost you nothing to find out.

This starts the conversation — it does not itself reserve anything and it does not ask you for money. We come back to you with the puppy’s details, the total and the terms in writing, and you decide from there.

Our side of it
When we will not take a booking
Turning down a booking costs us the sale, which is exactly why it is worth telling you in advance that we do it.
- The puppy is under eight weeks old. No puppy leaves before eight weeks. That is the legal minimum in India and it is also the point below which the puppy loses things from its mother and littermates that it does not get back.
- You have not seen the puppy live. We would rather do another video call than take money from someone who is buying a photograph.
- The match is wrong. If the size, coat or energy level does not suit the home you have described, we will say so and suggest something else — or nothing at all.
- Grooming has not been thought about. Every dog on this site needs clipping every six to eight weeks for life. If that has not been costed, the puppy is the wrong purchase.
- The household is not agreed. If one person is enthusiastic and another is not, waiting is better for everyone, including the dog.
FAQ
Questions about booking
Does sending the form reserve a puppy?
No. It starts a conversation. Nothing is reserved until we have confirmed the specific puppy, the total and the terms in writing, and you have agreed to them.
Can I book a puppy that has not been born yet?
We do not take bookings against unborn or unidentified puppies. If we cannot tell you the date of birth, sex and colour of the animal you are paying for, there is nothing definite to hold. Tell us what you are looking for and we will come back to you when something suitable is genuinely here.
How young can a puppy be when I collect it?
Eight weeks is the minimum, and it is not negotiable. Anyone offering you a six-week-old puppy is breaking the rules and cutting short the weeks in which a puppy learns most of its social behaviour from its mother and littermates.
Can I visit before booking rather than doing a video call?
Yes, and we would encourage it if you are nearby. A video call exists so that people who cannot easily travel are not asked to decide from photographs — it is not a replacement for meeting the puppy where that is practical. How a visit works.
What if I change my mind after booking?
Tell us as early as you can. What happens next depends on the terms you were given in writing at the time of booking, which is exactly why those terms go to you before any money is paid rather than after.
